Communication & Significance

Security Guard

Communication and its Significance

As a security professional, you will be expected to communicate an issue both quickly and clearly following unique internal organizational guidelines as well as externally to first responders.

Security Guards must adapt to the organization’s internal protocols such as whom to contact and when in the event of an emergency. This knowledge may be readily available in the logbook or it might be knowledge that gets passed on verbally. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for finding out how to gain this information before it’s needed.

Externally you might be the one to contact and meet first responders in an emergency. You may have to pass along information quickly and accurately to medical personnel. Security guards often contact law enforcement and/or city governmental services. We will cover how to best prepare yourself at your post for these occurrences.

Guard Duty Corp Difference

While online security guard training courses may offer convenience, they cannot compare to the benefits of learning in person from a qualified instructor. Online courses can be seen as a shortcut to getting a certificate, but lack the personalized attention and practical experience provided by in-person training. In-person training provides students with the opportunity to receive real-time feedback and personalized attention, as well as the chance to practice their skills in simulated real-world scenarios.

In a classroom you can ask questions, debate situations, and engage in experiential learning that reinforces the complex rules and regulations associated with the security field.

Why try to teach yourself how to be a 21st-century security guard when you can have our experienced staff with over 20 years of security and law enforcement experience guide you?

Renee’ Jackson, CA

It is my sincere pleasure to write a review for Dr. Will. I took the Basic Firearm class, in January 2023. I was a person who never felt there was a need to handle, let alone be in possession of a firearm. Dr. Will made me, and the other members of the class feel comfortable. He shared information with us, that allowed me to make my best decision. Secondly, I felt his patience and clarity in instruction made the class rewarding and informative.  We finished the classroom instruction with training at the firing range. The range experience was positive because I could use the information given in the classroom setting with practical application. Once again, his attention to detail, clarity in instructions, and patience made the experience positive and the knowledge valuable.
